Former US Army Brigade Commander Michael D. Schoenfeldt
A retired Army colonel based in Kansas City, Kansas, Michael D. Schoenfeldt most recently served as the commander of an armored brigade combat team. In this leadership position, he was tasked with the oversight of an operationally ready force consisting of 4,500 individuals, including seven affiliated divisions, each consisting of between 500 and 800 personnel. Michael D. Schoenfeldt also managed more than 800 pieces of rolling stock and over 400 containers, all while handling a budget exceeding $160 million. Earlier, he completed three combat tours in Iraq and one in Afghanistan.
Mr. Schoenfeldt holds a bachelor of science in history from the University of Kansas in Lawrence and a master of science in adult, occupational, and continuing education from Kansas State University. In 2018, he earned a second master’s, this time from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. In addition, he received a graduate certificate in supply chain management.
